Our Hearts Matter, LLC is a Florida based, minority female owned small business that provides the industry’s best safety training programs. Our focus is to give students the competency and confidence to respond in an emergency. Our approach to learning is adaptive and creative. The learning process consist of video demonstrations, oral lectures and hands-on training. Our mobile certified courses are accredited by the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, and American Safety and Health Institute.
A mother of three and caregiver Andrea is a Special Education Support Specialist for Duval County Public Schools. With over 20 years of experience as a teacher, school counselor and administrator she has also taught a variety of fitness classes, clinics and facilitated small groups as a diabetic prevention counselor in her community.
While at work she learned that a child was unresponsive on the playground. Trained in CPR Andrea knew the steps to take and assisted in saving that child’s life. This life changing experience inspired her to become a certified Basic Life Support Instructor and start Our Hearts Matter, LLC.

Andrea won much needed funding to purchase equipment. Impact Biz Jax is a relevant resource providing Exposure, Entrepreneurial Education, and Funding opportunities for entrepreneurs.
Our Hearts Matter new manikins have arrived. Approved by the American Heart Association these mankins are equipped with electronic feedback devices. A special thank you to Impact Biz Jax for sponsoring the pitch contest that funded this equipment.
Pitch Your Biz Fest hosted by Microsoft and CRPC Consultanting, LLC was a great opportunity for Our Hearts Matter, LLC to gain exposure and receive pitch development. Andrea’s heart felt pitch resulted in business opportunities and partnerships.
A conference hosted by SCORE focused on issues most relevant to women owned businesses. Andrea was acknowledged for her participation in the SCORE mentoring program and winning funding for Our Hearts Matter, LLC.
Andrea celebrated her selection and completion of JAX Bridges which is a 3 month program of the JAX Chamber Entrepreneurial Growth Division providing target entrepreneurial education and connections with larger companies.
After attending a youth leadership forum for those interested in advanced medicine. Andrea’s 16 year old daughter was inspired to start a nonprofit educating youth of the steps to take to save a life. Cheyann is certified in CPR/AED, First Aid & Stop The Bleed.
Our Hearts Matter served as an educational resource during the jamboree by teaching hands only CPR to students and their families.
Our learning options are adaptive and creative. Instructors are always flexible and trained to provide accommodations when appropriate.
Teaching CPR and First Aid after school at the Emmett Reed Center is always fun. Our goal is to provide free certification classes to those students interested in a career in health care.
Our Hearts Matter partnered with Mental Health Provider and Licensed School Psychologist Kimberly Armstrong to launch “Heart Talk: Joyful Healthy Connections” an opportunity to gather with others and raise awareness about heart health.
